Where families gather to share, laugh, and remember!
This site is to help bring your ancestors back to life for all to learn and share. But the site also becomes a gathering place for the surviving family to share and interact. Announce celebrations for weddings, births and tragic events. Grieve and have a laugh by sharing what you remember most with everyone else. Possibly start mending those wounds of divisions started long ago.
Features of the Site
Our
Family History Wiki portion of this site is organized around
Families. These generally include first cousins (those with a common grandparent) but may also be for second cousins (common great-grandparent) and siblings (common parent). Each extended family (or
Family Group) has a moderator for the family gathering of descendants.
If you can claim ancestry back to a family, you are welcome to join that
Family Group and its forum. Adding your email address to your genealogy database record is how you become involved initially and automatically with immediate family groups. Getting an account to contribute, even if just in the email forums, is the next step.
Look for your parents names to visit your immediate family group. Otherwise, look for a more distant family you recognize or is of interest such as your grandparents. Search inside the
Genealogy Database
if the family is not obvious. Or consider starting a new
Family Group if yours is not listed or in the existing database. A few who spent significant portions of their life as individuals have pages in the
Individuals group. There are also pages for important
Places here to give more of a history to an area that was important to one or more families.
Whose your Daddy? How about your Mama?
Are they really your Cuz'?
All too often a perplexing question. But one you likely would rather know than be guessing. Maybe you can find the answers through the work of your relatives here. Feel free to explore the family
genealogy database
,

,
dicussion forums
,
history wiki
and other portions of the public site to find information about your near or distant relatives. At minimum, record medical conditions and other history to assist trying to understand likelihoods for disease in your family. Often, genealogical databases are now being populated with DNA records to allow researchers to compare and contrast to further understand the disease that is passed down a family line. So now you can really find out if they are your Daddy!
Getting Involved
In addition to this Wiki, we have a discussion forum (web and email based), file repository for heirlooms, photo gallery organized around each family or individual, genealogical database and much more. Your email address needs to be attached to your
genealogy database
record in order for you to receive notifications and be eligible to participate. A Wiki page is defaulted for every family and individual in the genealogy database. A
Historian can add additional pages. And we include those special places like long lived family homes or meeting halls.
Register to become involved. To get a login, you must be a relation in the genealogical database with your record entered and complete. Contact the respective researcher or moderator for the family you believe you are a part of. Only those with a login can see living relatives and source documents related to the family. There is a single login for all areas (Wiki, Forums, Genealogy Database, Photo Galleries, etc)
[note: temporarily, you have to login separately to each activity.]
